Quick fixes to make sure your virtual audition goes smoothly.
Get closer to your WiFi router
Position yourself near your WiFi router, ideally in the same room. WiFi (especially 5G) does not travel well through walls when transmitting live video. Clear line of sight to your router matters more than you think.
Turn off WiFi and use your phone's data plan
Your mobile carrier signal (4G/5G cellular) may actually outperform your home WiFi. Go into your phone's WiFi settings and disable it to test your connection quality with cellular data instead.
Reboot your WiFi router & modem
After extended use, your equipment may need a reset. Unplug both your router and modem, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect to restore optimal speeds.
Close all apps
Running too many applications at the same time can degrade your performance. Close all apps except Hey Joe to free up system resources on your phone.
Connect from your laptop or desktop computer
If mobile solutions aren't working, use the same virtual lobby link (sent via SMS and email after check-in) to connect from a computer instead.
